History of the Volkswagen Beetle
The Volkswagen Type 1 started out life in Germany as the “people’s car” ie Volkswagen. In the 1930’s Germany decided on a cheap economic family vehicle that was simple and could be mass-produced. The functional aspects of the car were decided by Hitler himself, while the final design was completed by Ferdinand Porsche. The Beetle is the longest-running and most manufactured car of a single platform in history. The 1963 model had a 1.2L air-cooled flat-four that made 40 Horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque. This car is likely the slowest car in the top 30 bone stock. It had a rated top speed of 71MPH, a 0-60 time of 27.5 seconds, and a Quarter mile time of 23.35 seconds @ 56 MPH.
In Forza Horizon 4 the Beetle stock is a D 100 PI car. It weighs 1760LBs and is rated at 40 HP with RWD smiliar to its real-world specs. This gives it a power to weight ratio of 0.023 HP/LB. In stock trim, I managed a top speed of 82MPH. I did a 1/4 in 21.701 seconds at 60MPH and finished 1st, in the Horizon Festival Sprint road race I finished 1st place with a time of 2:31:23.
Fully Modded Performance
With all available mods, it’s an S2 Class 943 with 960HP and a weight of 2009lbs which gives it a power to weight ratio of 0.478HP/LB. In the 1/4 mile, it did 8.887 seconds at 170MPH in 1st place. In the top speed run, it topped out at 240MPH. In the Horizon Festival sprint road race, I finished 1st with a time of 1:33:36. Almost a minute faster than stock.
